Homunculus Simulator

A physics simulation toy about growing and observing strange creatures.

Made for the 2018 Github Game Off, Homunculus Simulator is an experimental physics-based simulation where you grow an amorphous creature from a small blob of organic material. The player is equipped with a library of various foods that can be fed to the creatures. Each food item has unique properties that can affect the way that each creature will grow and evolve.

The initial release was made over the course of a month and featured a growth engine that gives each creature the ability to digest and absorb the properties of each item you feed it. These properties determine how your creature grows and provides a dynamic and controlled way to evolve creatures in unique ways.

Some items are more likely to spawn hands, and other items are more likely to spawn eyes or a mouth. Experiment with various items and when you grow tired of a creature, you can determine their fate by either releasing them or introducing another creature to spice things up.
